Senior Engineer - Bridges at AECOM

AECOM South Africa is looking for Senior Bridge Engineers to play lead roles in the delivery of diverse local and international bridge projects.

• Design and planning of new bridges, culverts, and other road and rail structures in accordance with TMH7 and other relevant codes;
• Rehabilitation and upgrading design of existing bridges and drainage structures;
• Oversee the preparation of construction drawings;
• Preparation of project specifications and contract documentation;
• Inspection of bridges and culverts in accordance with TMH19;
• Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work;
• Preparation of design reports and proposals.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum ten years’ experience (including appropriate site experience);
• Experience in the design of bridges and other civil structures;
• Experience in the inspection of bridges and culverts;
• Knowledge of international bridge design codes will be a benefit;
• Proficiency in structural design software (Midas, Sofistik, RM Bridge) will be a benefit;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and CADS RC will be a benefit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering;
• Postgraduate studies in structural and/or bridge engineering will be a benefit;
• Registered Professional Engineer;
• Accreditation as a Bridge Inspector will be a benefit.
