Job Description

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the design of industrial and commercial solar systems. The successful candidate will ensure all systems comply with relevant regulations and standards while adhering to best engineering practices. This role includes designing renewable energy systems, cost projections, system performance estimates, and maintaining operational robustness.

Key Responsibilities

• Design renewable energy systems to meet regulations and standards.
• Conduct site inspections for accurate project design and costing.
• Develop budgets for new projects.
• Create detailed construction drawings and documentation.
• Perform calculations and compile documentation for utility approval.
• Simulate and optimize system performance accurately.
• Participate in on-site commissioning activities.
• Provide engineering support for operations and maintenance.
• Develop design tools for the engineering department.
• Assist Project Managers with engineering-related issues.
• Lead and mentor a design team of engineers, interns, and draughtsmen.
• Review and professionally approve designs for regulatory compliance.
• Sign off on completed projects for compliance and operational standards.

Qualifications

• PR Eng in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
• Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
