Senior Engineer / Technical Director at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• An established organisation within the engineering sector is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer / Technical Director to provide technical leadership across water resilience, water infrastructure and related engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will oversee project delivery, ensure quality standards, mentor engineers, manage client relationships and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead water infrastructure, wet services and related engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Review designs, drawings, calculations and technical reports for quality and compliance.
• Establish technical standards, quality assurance processes and design review procedures.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers toward ECSA registration.
• Manage project scope, budgets, fees, variations, risks and deliverables.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals, business development and practice growth.
• Develop specialist services in water resilience, treatment, groundwater, wastewater reuse and smart water monitoring.
• Support the strategic development of the engineering practice.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• ECSA Pr Eng registration or imminent registration with a verifiable application.
• Extensive experience in water engineering, wet services or infrastructure project delivery.
• Strong technical design, quality assurance and project management skills.
• Proven mentoring, client management and commercial capabilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transport.

Advantageous Experience

• Groundwater, water treatment, fire water and wastewater reuse systems.
• SANS 10252 and SANS 10400 standards.
• Revit, Civil 3D and multidisciplinary engineering consulting.
• JBCC, NEC or FIDIC contract administration.
• Commissioning, claims, variations and live-site retrofit projects.
• Sustainable water management, ESG, ISO 46001 or green building standards.
