Senior Fund Accountant at Curo Funds Service

Role purpose

Execute the production of NAV’s for pooled/Life funds. This role includes but is not limited to the production, execution, validation and release of the NAV/price for the fund, by ensuring data is complete, accurate, timely and delivered in accordance with SLA requirements. This also includes the execution of the different reconciliations between relevant systems as well as processing of subscriptions & redemptions processing. 

Specific duties/Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

Within the NAV business unit, duties include but are not limited too

• Execution of day-to-day functions within the team.
• Identification and escalation of control gaps in a timely manner.
• Identification and escalation of operational issues and ownership of daily health check processes.
• Foster existing business relationships to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
• Support management in the change process.
• Support management in responding to internal organizational requests for collation and trend analysis of KPIs for the function.
• Support management in ensuring day-to-day adherence to standard operating procedures & controls.
• Execution of relevant reconciliations between different systems to ensure accuracy of information.
• Taking ownership of day-to-day functions within the team.
• The rotation of tasks/functions within the team.

Skills Required:

• Accounting or business/industry related qualification
• Preferably have relevant experience in the pooled/life environment (2 years)
• Clear communicator (verbal & written)
• Focused individual who is able to execute effectively and timely
• Individual who can use initiative, take ownership and is able to question from base principles
• Ability to liaise with all areas of the business
• Proven analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain solid working relationships and interaction with management.
• Proven ability to be a team player as well as individual contributor
• Individual who is detail orientated
• Individual who can perform under pressure
• Individual should be able to work outside of the normal core business hours (potential evening deadlines till 21:00)

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Tertiary Financial Qualification with a business or accounting background
• A minimum of 2 year’s related experience
• Proficient in MS office
• Good knowledge and understanding of the Financial Markets and Financial instruments
