Senior Gardener (J-Hay Band) at Rand Water

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12
• 3 Years’ experience in horticultural/environmental field is essential
• Ability to operate specialised horticultural machinery such as chainsaws, Ride-on mower etc.
• Basic safety knowledge and ability to complete tasks in time without constant supervision. 
• Code 08 / EB driver’s licence.

Primary Duties    

• Horticultural maintenance of Sites, including operation of specialized equipment and machinery
• Grass maintenance, Disease identification, weed identification and eradication.
• Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
• Maintenance of indoor plants.
• Applications of fertilizers, compost, mulches and pesticides.
• Loading and offloading of goods, machines, plants and debris etc.
• Administration duties such as Asset management, completion of relevant forms etc.
• Support with decorations and construction when required.

Knowledge    

• Specialised Horticultural and landscape knowledge
