    Senior HR Manager

    Purpose of Role

    The Human Resources Manager is an HOD position in the mine as part of the Operations Manager’s advisory team. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the full HR generalist function and will need to have sound knowledge and experience in relevant mining policies, compensation/rewards, HR systems and organizational planning.

    The incumbent will also be responsible for overall HR strategy and service delivery to the Management team.

    Role Context

    • To ensure HR brand excellence and client centricity through delivery to relevant stakeholders.
    • Conduct good HR planning to optimize business performance through HR practices such as effective attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of human capital.
    • Ensure effective HR policies and processes are adhered too as well as maintaining HR records that are in line with legal requirements.
    • Maintain financial control ensuring that expenditure complies within the budgetary parameters.
    • Proactively identify needs and facilitate delivery of solutions (via corporate and shared resources) to improve HR outcomes
    • Monitor delivery of HR services relative to departmental commitments (with HR team)
    • Evaluate and provide feedback on the impact of HR strategies and monitor their consistent application
    • Support HR team
    • Advise and support HOD’s on all HR issues
    • Analyse trends to recommend the required interventions

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Human Resources Management Degree/National Diploma NQF 6/7
    • MDP/MBA (advantageous) 

    Job specific experience:

    • 10 years HR Generalist experience across all disciplines
    • 5 years HR experience within mining or a similar environment
    • Have experience in working as part of a leadership team
    • Self-driven and able to work with complexity
    • Articulate in both written and verbal communication
    • Client centric
    • Team player
