    Senior Human Resources Business Partner

    Main Purpose

    To partner with Business Unit Executives in delivering the people strategy, driving transformation and diversity in business units and providing support to line partners in ensuring the delivery of the business strategy through people.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with BU Execs and their teams to deliver key people imperatives
    • Deliver the HR Operating plan through integration with business units
    • Acquire an in-depth knowledge of the business areas and the commercial levers that drive business growth in order to design appropriate HR solutions
    • Partner with BU Execs to ensure effective people leadership within their span of control
    • Drive and embed all end-to-end people processes across business units
    • Co-own and drive the transformation agenda
    • Act as a thinking partner and change champion in all transformation, change and people matters
    • Identify and provide on-going diagnosis of cultural trends within the business units
    • Provide coaching/act as sounding board for BU execs around key people issues
    • Review and ensure the appropriate stakeholder engagement around HR policies and procedures
    • Facilitate and provide the appropriate level of support in ensuring that HR policies, processes and controls are adhered to
    • Deliver Management and Board reports aligned to business reporting requirements
    • Provide informed ER guidance to BUs
    • Work with EXCO partner(s) to identify key trends/shifts/issues relating to people that impact on strategy delivery.
    • Ensure that an effective BU plan is in place to address key trends identified
    • Facilitate effective functioning of BU partner’s team(s) and team health to ensure effective people leadership by those team(s).
    • Provide guidance and facilitate the required focus and implementation of the EE strategy

    Key Competencies

    • Knowledge of all appropriate legislation(BBBEE, EE, LRA and BCEA) and compliance to policies
    • Business acumen
    • Project management skills
    • Facilitation and coaching skills
    • Influencing, communication and negotiation skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Ability to operate at a systemic, strategic and operational level
    • Knowledge and ability to implement people processes and practices
    • Understanding of the FAIS Act and relevant compliance required by the business is advantageous

    Qualifications

    • 3 year relevant degree

    Experience Required

    • 5-8 years relevant hands-on experience
    • Financial Services experience an advantage
    • Knowledge and understanding of human resources policies and procedures/labour legislation and practices
    • Experience in implementing HR plans and delivery of employee lifecycle related products and services
    • Business consulting experience
    • Previous leadership/ management experience
    • Ability to work within a matrix structure
