Senior Instrumentation Technician at Anglo American

Job Description

As part of this team, you will be expected to successfully manage these duties:

• Management of the equipment within the process control domain
• Best practice for instrumentation developed within relevant legal and safety frameworks
• Audit high risk and safety critical areas
• Identify areas of poor availability
• Conducting modifications to the control solution for process problems
• System troubleshooting and hardware problems resolution
• Support on existing instrumentation, networks and hardware
• Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution
• Schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks
• Control monthly maintenance budgets for process control section
• Assist with commissioning for on-site projects

This position is in the Engineering department at a D1 level, reporting into the Instrumentation Engineer.

Qualifications

Please attach the following qualifications with your application:

• National Diploma/ National Technical Diploma
• Instrumentation Mechanician Trade
• Registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA - advantageous

Required Experience:

• 3 years as an Instrumentation Technician
• Siemens PCS7 experience
• Smelter or Heavy Industry experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Required to work overtime and be on standby
• Must be medically fit - will be Working at Heights
• Valid drivers licence with your own transport - essential
• Advanced computer literacy
• Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications
