What You’ll Do

• Design complex backend systems with a focus on scalability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency
• Translate technical and business requirements into robust software solutions
• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Optimize APIs and services for performance under increasing user loads
• Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
• Ensure high code quality through code reviews and secure coding practices
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and production support for backend systems
• Guide software architecture and solution design across teams
• Share knowledge and support growth of peers and junior engineers
• Engage with stakeholders and product sponsors on technical planning and delivery

What You Bring

• 6+ years of experience in Senior level backend software engineering, including Java and Spring Boot
• 5-10 Years Java Development
• Extensive Spring Boot
• Microservices building expert
• React front end experience
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture and API design
• Strong understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and performance tuning
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid grasp of SDLC, design patterns, testing strategies, and version control
• Analytical mindset with strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bonus: Experience with React or other frontend technologies
• Cape Town or Johannesburg
