• Clover is currently recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Technician for a Fixed Term Contract. This exciting opportunity is based at the Clover Clayville branch. 
• We are looking for a Technical specialist with instruments/technical knowledge of chemistry and microbiology methods/SANAS and system co-ordinator.  

Requirements    

• Masters Degree 
• Relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level 
• Business English: Fluent
• Computer literacy (Advanced) 
• Code 08 Driver's license 
• Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities    
Analyse samples and maintain the quality system ISO 17025  

• Test all products to ensure conformance with Clover standards, methods, procedures and policies 
• Efficient control of documents and files 
• Communicate with clients when required and send out regular reports 
• Assist to maintain SANAS system and lead SANAS audits 
• Conduct internal audits/resolve non-conformances 

Conduct good laboratory practices audits  

• Assist in monthly audits to ensure ISO 17025 guidelines are maintained 
• Maintain general housekeeping to maintain lab credibility 
• Uphold rules of GLP to ensure efficient lab functioning 
• Constantly find new procedures to improve GLP and lab functioning 

Acquire and apply specialist knowledge of equipment and techniques  

• Do accurate and efficient reporting and administration 
• Evaluate new methods, equipment and technology with the aim of implementation thereof 
• Provide timeous and professional advice to Clover laboratories 
• Ensure all instruments are calibrated and in working order 
• Involved in research into new methods and provide evaluations of new technologies
• Assist with research into new Clover requirements 
• Assist in validations of new methods and extensions of scope for SANAS ISO 17025
• Assist in troubleshooting customer complaints and report on these complaints 

Assist with general functioning of the laboratory  

• Take part in PT schemes and internal lab verification schemes 
• Report broken instruments and have an understanding of the working of the instrument to troubleshoot possible problems 
• Complete stock take and order new stock 
• Assist with compilation data into reports to do trend analysis 
• Guide, train and motivate team members to ensure a positive working environment
• Assist with work planning and prioritizing of samples to ensure results are released timeously 

Conduct audits  

• Conduct internal audits 
• Perform HACCP analysis 
• Perform RCA and troubleshooting
