Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Faculty of Humanities: Palaeo-Research Institute) at University of Johannesburg

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and honours courses.
• Supervise students.
• Publish original research.
• Provide management support to the operations of the Institute (operational planning and reporting, liaison with external stakeholders).

Minimum requirements

• PhD in Archaeology or Palaeoanthropology
• Three years' teaching experience within a higher education environment
• Research experience in the palaeo-sciences

Postgraduate supervision record

• Required work related experience:
• Research experience in archaeological indigenous knowledge systems
• Academic output reporting systems (Scopus, inCites)
• Project management
• Report writing

 
Required knowledge:

• Palaeo Microscopic analysis
• Academic publishing and bibliometrics and in particular:
• Knowledge of Web of Science, InCites and Scopus
• Must possess general office skills including:
• Excellent English language skills

• MS tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Good written and Verbal skills
• Planning and time keeping
• Report compilation

• Knowledge of the field of online education and academic interventions in higher education
