Senior Lecturer/Lecturer/Junior Lecturer at University of Venda

REQUIREMENTS

Senior Lecturer

• PHD/Doctoral degree or equivalent qualification in Nursing Science with at least five (5) years teaching experience at tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field.
• Experience in student supervision in an academic health institution and teaching Midwifery Nursing and General Nursing Science.
• A minimum of five (5) publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals.
• Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) is a must.

Lecturer

• Master`s degree in Nursing Science with at least three (3) years teaching experience at tertiary institution, or five (5) years professional experience in the relevant field.
• Experience in student supervision in an academic health institution and teaching Midwifery Nursing and General Nursing Science.
• Publications in peer reviewed and or non-peer reviewed journals will be a strong recommendation. Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) is a must.

Junior Lecturer

• Honours degree in Nursing Education.
• Previous teaching experience in an Institution of Higher Learning.
• Experience in facilitating General Nursing Science or Midwifery and an Advanced Midwifery qualification will be an added advantage.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator is compulsory.

DUTIES

The successful candidate will accept responsibility for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in Nursing Science and will be expected to actively participate in research projects.

If appointed at the level of Senior Lecturer, the incumbent will participate in departmental management and will provide academic guidance to postgraduate students.
