Senior Linux Engineer at Hire Resolve

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
• Provide technical leadership.
• Contribute to projects & architectural planning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices.
• Drive Initiatives / Projects to completion with relevant team members
• Drive OS Security Hardening with relevant team members.
• Resolve Service Affecting Incidents & RCA’s to completion.
• Monitoring, managing and improving the efficiency of support services.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Maths & Science (Required)
• Tertiary Education in the ICT industry (Required)
• Tertiary qualification in IT technical field (Essential)
• ITIL Foundation certified (Advantageous)
• RHCSA / RHCE or similar qualification in Unix/Linux environment (Required)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study (Advantageous)
• Candidate should have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in ICT, with at least 10 years in Unix/Linux System administration (Required).
• Experience in administering enterprise-scale Unix/Linux environments (Required).
• Experience on multi-vendor net management port configurations, i.e. HP ILO, SUN ILOM, Dell iDrac (Advantageous).
• Candidate should have in depth experience in hardware, system software, storage and networking (Required).
• Advanced shell scripting (Required).
• Ansible Automation (Required).
• Red Hat Satellite (Required).
• Red Hat OpenShift enterprise (Advantageous).
• Cluster environments, i.e. Veritas and Pacemaker (Advantageous).
• Vulnerability and Patch Management (Essential)
• AWS Cloud experience (Advantageous)
• Backup and recovery (Required)
• Working knowledge of BMC Remedy (Advantageous)
