Senior Manager, Credit Risk Assurance at Standard Bank Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

CRA&G is part of the second line of defence and supports both the BCC CRO and any Credit Risk Executives responsible directly to that role, in providing independent oversight, qualitative assessment and reporting of Credit Risk Management practices throughout BCC and where applicable, CHNW. In discharging this assurance function, CRA&G places high priority on providing expert, meaningful insight, and recommendations to Client Segments (CS), legal entities and associated stakeholders, the better to foster the achievement of their respective risk goals, ultimately to further the group’s Strategy. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications Required:

• B.Com; B.Econ.; Accounting or related degrees (Masters in Business/Economics/Finance/Banking will be an advantage).

Minimum Qualifications Required:

•  At least 5-7 years Credit Evaluation and/or Business Credit Recovery experience in a Business and Commercial Clients Segments, Consumer and High Net Worth or CIB environment.
• A thorough understanding of Credit Risk analysis is required, incl. product knowledge, cash flow analysis and how micro and macro-economic factors can potentially adversely affect the credit risk of a counterparty or portfolio on a forward-looking basis.
• International experience would be an advantage.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Excellent report writing skills and verbal communication skills in English.
• Additional skills in Portuguese may be an added advantage in engagements with some countries.
