    Senior Manager: Monitoring Research and Feedback (MRF)

    About the Job

    • We are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager: Monitoring Research and Feedback (MRF) to join our dynamic team.

    Job Purpose:

    • The Senior Manager Monitoring Research and Feedback capacitates and supports districts to collect, analyse, feedback, and use critical evidence for education improvement.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Strategic Delivery:

    • Lead the development of the strategy for the MRF unit which focuses on monitoring change in the implementation of programmes in districts.
    • Design and implement plans for the MRF unit which will lead to increased impact in districts.
    • Lead the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
    • Support the identification and securing of new business opportunities to expand NECT partnerships and increase funding pool.

    Operational Delivery:

    • Manage the identification, monitoring, research, evaluation, and feedback needs for the division’s programmes.
    • Identification of M&E opportunities and risks for the Division and the sector.
    • Design implementation plans for the monitoring, research, evaluation, and feedback needs for Division 1 programmes.
    • Overseeing the implementation of research activities of the unit.
    • Drive the implementation of the theory of change for Division 1.
    • Report on the implementation of MRF activities internally and to relevant stakeholders.
    • Direct the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities of the unit aligning to requirements of NECT and the Department of Basic Education.

    People Delivery:

    • Manage units’ KPAs and associated KPIs and implement corrective action.
    • Manage people and culture per NECT people practices and policies to create an enabling environment that supports highperforming and empowered teams.
    • Define and drive clear accountability and processes for the MRF unit that are aligned to the organisation.

    Finance and Governance:

    • Responsible for Finance, Risk management, Reporting, including supporting Finance with audits.
    • Manage units’ budget and planning.
    • Support resource mobilisation for the Division.
    • Drives and manages accountabilities for aligning legislative requirements and NECT practices to internal governance framework.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Postgraduate Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation.
    • Master’s Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, or Education (Preferred).
    • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the education sector, with at least 2 years’ experience in management.
    • Understanding of education theory / curriculum.
    • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
    • Familiar with all aspects of research methodologies including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Familiarity with statistical analytical tools.
    • Understanding of complex systems - South African classroom and District dynamics.
    • Experience in managing change.
