Senior Manager: Risk strategy, business transformation and governance – CIB Risk at Absa Group Limited (Absa)

Job Summary

• The purpose of this role is to link strategy and execution. The Group recognises the importance of aligning execution effort directly to its strategic imperatives and ensuring that the key strategy enabling initiatives are delivered. This function sits alongside the Integrated Planning and Business Transformation functions to ensure cohesion of investment activities between businesses, functions and countries

Job Description

• The aim of this role is to focus on the execution of strategy, identify and monitor the key initiatives that underpin the functional strategy. You must give effect to this strategy through effective stakeholder engagement and alignment. You will partner with executives to ensure full understanding of expectations that they may have of this function and to ensure alignment on key initiatives, enablers, dependencies and interdependencies between areas.

You will be expected to:

• Drive Pan African CIB Risk strategy implementation (in line with Group Risk and CIB Risk strategic priorities)
• Drive business transformation in line with the Pan African CIB Risk strategy
• Drive resolution of governance issues and audit findings
• Manage Pan African CIB Risk Manco meetings and packs, Pan African SLG meetings and pack and Pan African CIB Risk Townhalls, Business Engagement Survey amongst others
• Work closely with the People and Culture, Integrated Planning and Financial Control functions of the Chief Operating Officer’s Office for effective strategy implementation

We are looking for a senior colleague with 12 to 18 years of experience, with a banking and/or economics background. Management experience, stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach is essential to be successful in this role. A successful candidate will be skilled at solving problems, driving results and operate as a Pan-African citizen.

Education

• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
