Senior Manager SSA MSC Finance at Mondelez International

You will be the finance partner to plant management and manage the overall financial integrity and performance of a manufacturing site. You will support the Plant Leadership team in preparing and executing business proposals, verifying assumptions, and checking for daily execution. You will manage finance for a complex plant cluster, hub or large manufacturing plant.

You will:

• Manage finance planning and performance management processes and related financial decisions potentially including strategic plan and annual contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, financial modeling and decision support for a manufacturing plant, plant cluster or hub.
• Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in the manufacturing plant. You will also ensure that policies are understood in the organization and that proper controls and compliance are in place.
• Partner with plant management to provide critical financial perspective and insight for business strategies and decisions. You will also monitor and adjust execution of actions.
• Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the Finance team.
• Build a high-performing Finance team. You will also recruit and develop Finance talent and drive our Finance talent agenda with a focus on Supply Chain/plant controlling.

More about this role

This role leads MSC finance for SSA BU providing support and financial oversight to the manufacturing (key operations in South Africa, Nigeria and Swaziland), CS&L (local and imports) and procurement organisation. The role reports to Senior Director MSC Finance for the AMEA region (based in Singapore) and has a dotted line reporting to the Sr Finance Director, SSA and partners closely with the Sr Director MSC for SSA. This position is part of SSA BU Finance and Supply Chain leadership teams. The position has 3 direct reports and indirectly manages a team of >10 people. The key deliverables from this role are:

• CoGs Management for the BU with full accountability for productivity and effectiveness
• Evaluation of capital proposals and management of the capital budget
• Supporting CCC delivery with specific focus on inventory management
• Maintaining a high level of internal controls and statutory compliances in plants and CSL operations
• People and Engagement – Enabling wider organisational programmes around engagement and careers, providing coaching and relevant exposure to colleagues as needed.

Key stakeholders in the role are BU Finance Director, BU MSC Director, SSA MSC Leadership team, Regional Engineering and procurement teams, Regional Finance and COE teams.

Education / Certifications/ Experience:

To succeed in this role, it is expected the successful incumbent will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Management Accounting.  CIMA/ACCA preferred.
• 12-15 years’ experience in Finance Senior Management; with more than 7 years demonstrated experience in supply chain within multinational business environments.
• Strong US GAAP / Internal Accounting Standards and Statutory Accounting Systems.
• Excellent and demonstrated Business Acumen with demonstrated experiences across functional process within multinationals.
• Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams.
• Uses analytical skills and judgment to solve problems with limited information at hand
• Excellent Strategic, Conceptual and Analytical skills.
• Demonstrated experience of financial and manufacturing key performance indicators
• Excellent communication, people management and leadership skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
