Manage multiple tasks and prioritise where necessary to achieve agreed deliverables to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Perform accurate mechanical and piping engineering designs and calculations.
Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
Interdisciplinary co-ordination of technical aspects of the design.
Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
Produce accurate engineering lists including but not limited to equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipeline and special items.
Provide accurate material take-offs as and when required.
Compile tender pack technical requirements and scopes and provide technical recommendations for the procurement of mechanical equipment, bulk materials and construction contracts from vendors, fabricators and contractors where necessary.
Review vendor certified documentation and disseminate the information to the appropriate personnel for interface checking.
Register and file all relevant engineering documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
Travel on ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
Assist with the provision of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
Maintain an understanding of the latest developments to industry and Project specific codes, standards and related engineering matters.
Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
The expertise you'll bring
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of 7+ years of experience in mineral processing and/or related industries.
Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.
South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
Cape Town based
Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
