    Senior Network Engineer (Night Shift)

    THE ROLE:

    • The Network Engineer constructs configurations, actions installations and attends to break/fix events. 
    • Their primary function is to ensure that client solution requirements are resolved in line with Service Level Agreements (SLA).  
    • This individual will provide operations support and troubleshooting of technologies/solutions. 



    • Provision of operations support and troubleshooting of less complex technologies/solutions. 
    • Problem resolution and troubleshooting. 
    • Respond to escalated client requests and support client applications to a first line resolution. 
    • Take accountability for portions of installation, break/fix incidents and problem management.  
    • Perform periodic telephonic duty on the technical service desk, providing second line telephonic support under guidance to clients. 
    • Perform incident management and resolution of level 2 and when required level 1 issues, including level 2 problem management and request fulfilment of remote move, add, change, delete activities. 
    • Ensure client take on and monitoring. 
    • Contribute to service asset and configuration management of networks and contribute to related operational activities, e.g. change implementation, change validation, release management, etc. 
    • Communicate and log calls with vendors or 3rd parties to ensure the resolution of issues. 
    • Update tickets and documents, e.g. handover documents, root cause analysis and post incident reviews.


    Assist with the documentation of standard operating procedures relating to installations and fixes. 


    • Have you completed a diploma or degree in IT or similar? 
    • Do you have a CCNA, MCSE or similar certification? 
    • Can work night shift? 
    • Do you have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior support role?

    • Switching experience
    • Routing
    • Servers and Services (Windows and Linux)
    • Cloud Computing
    • L7 Firewall (Fortinet and ASA)
    • Load Balancer technology, F5 experience
    • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Network)
    • Security principles
    • SDWAN implementation exposure
    • VPN
