Senior Payroll Accountant - Finance Department (Pretoria) at FSCA South Africa

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including the preparation and processing of payroll, leave, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, and FSCA internal regulations governing payroll, including tax and UIF submissions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, including tax filings and other statutory returns.
• Ensure that all payroll-related queries are addressed and resolved in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Implement and maintain efficient payroll systems and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to the HR and Finance departments on payroll-related matters.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of employee benefit contributions and deductions.
• Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of payroll data and processes.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with relevant external agencies such as SARS, UIF, and other payroll- related service providers.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll accounting or a related finance function, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, statutory deductions, and tax legislation. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage and Microsoft Excel.)
