Senior Piping Designer at Worley

The Senior Piping Designer is responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Carry out all Piping design work in accordance with agreed standards and practices that meets all requirements of the contract. Also, to ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures as per the company Engineering Governance Standard.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

• The minimum educational, qualifications and experience that are required to perform the job competently:

Minimum Qualifications: 

• A 2 or 3-year technical diploma with discipline specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Trained in leadership and project execution.
• Membership of the SA Institute of Draughting a further advantage.

Experience: 

• Minimum of 5 years of applicable post-qualification experience.
• Experience in Chemicals, Hydrocarbons, Power and Resources Infrastructure industries essential, across operations, design and project execution roles.
• Experience in Sasol Secunda End of job documentation.

   COMPETENCIES OF THE JOB:

• Intermediate understanding of engineering design concepts and application of knowledge, codes & standards
• Communication, particularly relationship with peers. (Interpersonal)
• Basic planning, organising and analytical skills, deals with concepts and complexity comfortably (Intellectual Capacity)).
• Good computer skills in using Engineering Design (2D & 3D) & General Software (MS Office)
• Ability to work in a matrix structure. (Teamwork)

   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

• Will be required to visit Customer sites, Supplier offices / workshops as well as construction sites.
• Will be required to conduct inspections at Supplier workshops, as well as conduct inspections on constructions sites.
