    Senior Portfolio Manager

    General Purpose of Role

    Provides direction and leadership to encourage the effective completion of projects within a portfolio of work. Maintain and improve portfolio management and delivery processes, systems and tools to enable the delivery of customer objectives. Implement portfolio key performance indicators and monitors performance, with focus on value and continuous improvement. Maintains an integrated view of the customers objectives, leveraging synergies and resources across the entire portfolio. May support customer to implement selection and prioritization for projects in portfolio.

    General Level Summary

    Typically manages a single medium to large portfolio contract within the organization, with daily operational responsibilities which may have global implications. Responsible for implementing and administering project and Worley policies and procedures in order to successfully achieve portfolio objectives. Works with others on the portfolio team to develop annual business plan. Produces integrated solutions to strategic issues and presents recommendations to customers. Solutions are derived from available resources provided internally and/or externally, including policies and procedures. May participate on portfolio initiation team.

    Qualifications, Accreditation, Training (Essential)

    University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

    Job Specific Knowledge, Experience (Essential)

    Typically 15+ years experience, including 12+ years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience; Portfolio Manager experience leading small to medium portfolios, may include EPCM and EPC services; E, EP Experience; Workshare experience.

    Job Specific Knowledge, Experience (Desirable)

    Demonstrated PM experience leading medium and large projects with medium and high risk elements; EPCM, EPC including site assignments; Multi-Cultural / Multi-National environments.

Broad knowledge of functional area and ability to implement and lead organizational project change effectively. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals.

    Supervision Received

    Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Receives administrative direction based on project and organization policies and objectives. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with project directives, policy and for coordination of other Worley departments.

    Supervision Authority

    Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on medium to large sized projects. Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy. May have direct and indirect reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people.

    Systems and Tools (Essential)

    Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint. Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.

    Systems and Tools (Desirable)

    May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools; Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.

    Technical Expertise

    • Ensures methodologies, processes, tools and systems as set out in portfolio contract are used throughout the portfolio and compliance requirements are met/satisfied.
    • Applies knowledge of all aspects of contracted services (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and/or Maintenance) to oversee the successful execution of the portfolio plan.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated understanding of project delivery workflow and coordination.
    • Experience with procurement/ subcontracting and on-site construction, maintenance and/or operations support.
    • Has completed a full project from start to finish and spent time in the field implementing what was engineered.

    Financial Acumen

    • Applies in‐depth knowledge of customer contract to the oversight and management of the portfolio.
    • Strong understanding and application of business drivers, financial reporting standards.
    • Monitors cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends for individual projects and overall portfolio.
    • Implements appropriate metrics for key quantities on projects within portfolio, that may include engineering deliverables and installed quantities.
    • Understands project cost buildup including gross margin together with risks that may erode margin and opportunties to improve margin.
    • Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the portfolio team.
    • Manages cash flow requirements, including accounts receivable, and work in progress to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).

    Execution Planning & Performance

    • Experienced in developing and reviewing Project Execution Plans.
    • Strong ability to develop and deliver Portfolio Annual Business Plan and Three Year Strategic Plan.
    • Incorporates lessons learned as inputs to implementing the portfolio continuous improvement plan.
    • Implements regular reviews and controls to monitor and report portfolio performance.
    • Depth of understanding of overall portfolio in order to balance competing needs, timeframes and resources and identifies what is critical to success.
    • Good understanding of Project and Portfolio Control Reports and able to indentify problem areas for correction.
    • Incorporates Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives into portfolio plan, measures and delivers to objectives.
    • Experienced in successful workshare execution.

    • Understands the customer’s business objectves and what needs to be achieved in a one and a five year timeframe.

    • Manages customer representatives and other significant stakeholders, including winning over those with negative perspectives about the portfolio relationship.
    • Manages and nurtures customer and stakeholder relationship based on established expectations and communication protocols.
    • Develops a relationship of trust and respect with ability to discuss project and portfolio progress, challenges and issues in a transparent manner.

    Risk & Opportunity Management

    • Understands commercial and legal risks in the contract, prepares and manages mitigation plans.
    • Implements risk and opportunity management across portfolio per the Worley risk management standards and procedures.
    • Identifies potential risks or new risks as the portfolio progresses and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.
    • Maintains detailed risk register that is current, updated, reviewed and communicated on a regular basis (at least monthly).
    • Keeps project and portfolio contingencies aligned with the risk register.
