Senior Professional Nurse (Theatre) - Plettenberg Bay at RPO Recruitment

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the theatre for surgeries, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and operational.
• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring efficiency and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor patient recovery post-surgery and manage potential complications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and surgical procedures.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Nursing with a specialization in Operating Theatre Nursing.
• Must have a Theatre Operating Theatre Diploma to qualify.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Proven experience in a theatre nursing role, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and theatre procedures.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate and patient-focused with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with patients, families, and medical teams.
