    Senior Programme Manager: Digital

    Purpose of the Position:

    • To plan, lead and manage strategic projects and programmes across multiple business areas to enable the business to meet its set objectives.

    Key Performance Objectives

    Project Engagement & Planning

    • Facilitate the development of a consolidated strategy across the various business units.
    • Define the scope and align all stakeholders to the strategy, scope, and measures (outcomes and outputs)
    • Plan the go-to-market strategy and align all key participants
    • Establish program objectives, goals, and activities
    • Define the program outcomes and outputs (OKR’s & KPI’s) in alignment with the organizational outcomes and outputs.
    • Establish priorities within the overall programme and allocate resources in line with those priorities
    • Identify and align key programme interdependencies
    • Negotiate and contract in key programme resources that are housed in the business units
    • Develop, implement, and monitor the programme governance structures
    • Proactively identify and manage key program related risks & issues.
    • Facilitate the execution of Group Digital’s key business initiatives.
    • Lead the pre-project engagement meeting to understand the project requirement and build rapport with the clients.
    • Manage the projects budget by monitoring costs and expenditure against achieved deliverables.

    Stakeholder Relations

    • Establish and maintain the necessary relationships to execute projects
    • Provide specialised and technical support to internal stakeholders to ensure achievement of project objectives
    • Set and manage executive and stakeholder expectations
    • Provide frequent communication and feedback to relevant stakeholders
    • Manage and chair programme steercos with executives
    • Manage and chair internal programme sessions with project managers and delivery managers across the organization

    Program Implementation

    • Develop detailed programme deliverables and timelines
    • Unpack the programme into project workstreams and work packages
    • Align and prioritise the project workstreams along the program critical path
    • Develop a programme roadmap for delivery
    • Provide direction and support to programme/Project teams
    • Develop and implement project implementation tracking metrics to ensure the project remains on track andidentifies deviations, challenges, and risks
    • Proactively manage deviations on the set timelines and actively manage stakeholder expectations
    • Review and ensure quality of work in the project meets the set expectations and standards.
    • Achieve programme objectives by active involvement and continuously reviewing and improving, operational methodologies.
    • Implement risk management strategies and review project risks and activities that could pose a risk to the program.
    • Facilitate the execution of Group Digital’s key business initiatives.Drive organizational change processes and change management on the program
    • Implement a program communication strategy
    • Ensure effective problem/issue identification and resolution strategies are in place on the programme.
    • Influence team members, business executives and programme stakeholders to balance long and short-term objectives, considering business value of the program
    • Implement programme objectives and goals in alignment with various business unit annual objectives and goals. These could be strategic, tactical, and/or operational business unit goals
    • Oversee and manage the operational handover to lines of business
    • Oversee and manage the post implementation War Rooms
    • Produce regular status reports as agreed with the stakeholders

    People Management

    • Oversee the activities of the project teams to ensure on time delivery
    • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance management process and informal coaching
    • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between project teams
    • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future project and programme requirements can be met
    • Motivate project team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised
    • Manage programme executive stakeholders.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Post Graduate qualification in Programme or Project Management or Business Degree
    • A minimum of 8-10 years’ work experience in Project/Programme management role or similar
    • Experience in a digital environment or rolling out digital transformation programs
    • Exposure to governance control and risk management
    • Proven ability to effectively work across teams at all levels
