Senior Programme Manager (Durban) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Manages and oversees the development and roll-out of series catalytic programmes for the regions within the city as part of spatial transformation agenda informed by the approved IDP, SDF, LAP and Precinct plans

This post reports to DEPUTY HEAD (CATALYTIC OPERATIONS)

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Project manages, implement and coordinate the implementation of Catalyst programmes and projects across the regions.
• Promoting economic development and increase value of land for production, the incumbent must monitor, evaluate and control the implementation of strategy for catalytic projects and operations
• Maintains effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders within the privet and public sectors and across various industries to ensure effective partnership in implementing catalytic projects.
• Forward planning, strategic alignment, defining strategic and functional objectives of the functions intent and deliverables.
• Controls outputs associated with utilisation and performance of personal within the department.
• Plan and prepare capital and operating estimates and controlling expenditure against the approved budget allocations.
• Contribute towards the Unit’s implementation of organisational performance reporting process.

Essential Requirements    

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in one of the following disciplines Architecture. Engineering, Town Planning, Property Development, Project and Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Local Economic Development, Geographic Information Systems, Transport Management, or Equivalent. Professional Registration with the relevant Professional Body in any of the above disciplines, where applicable.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be at management level.

Preferred Requirements    

• Postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8 or higher) in one of the following disciplines Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, Property Development, Project and Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Local Economic Development, Geographic Information Systems, Transport Management or equivalent.
• 8 years relevant experience, of which 3 years must be at management level.
