The role of Senior Project manager / Project Director will be a key leadership role within the construction management team responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of wind projects in South Africa. This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing complex renewable energy projects.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Develop and implement project plans, strategies, and timelines for wind projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communications.
• Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
• Allocate and manage resources effectively, optimizing project efficiency.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Implement risk management plans to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitor and evaluate project performance against established quality metrics.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Implement effective project tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, permits, and codes.
• Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and adjust project plans accordingly.
• Lead, inspire, and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Conduct regular project team meetings and performance evaluations.

Required skills and education background.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing wind projects.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy industry trends and technologies.
• Project management certification such as PMP or Prince 2
