    Contracts Associate - Cape Town

    About this role

    • Assist the Contracts Manager in his/her duty to implement relevant contractual arrangements from financial close through the construction and operational phases of the Mulilo portfolio of projects.
    • Administration and management of legal workstreams
    • Assisting the Contract’s Manager in ensuring sound corporate governance procedures are adhered to

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Assist the Contracts Manager in the management of the document handover and filing process following financial close of a project.
    • Assist the Contracts Manager in his/her duty to provide legal advice to the Asset Management Team and the implementation/renewal of corporate, management, financing, construction, operational and land agreements (or any other relevant agreements)
    • Support in drafting, reviewing and negotiating various legal documents, including (but not limited to) term sheets, mandates, insurance renewal terms, professional services agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
    • Support in drafting corporate governance documentation, including board reports, resolutions and documentation as may be required for submission to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, and assisting with the timeous filing of such documents.
    • Assist in the preparation for board and/or shareholder meetings.

    Quality Manager - Cape Town

    About this role

    The Quality Manager forms part of the construction management team and will be responsible for overseeing and implementing a robust quality management system for Mulilo within the renewable energy project environment in South Africa. This role demands a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in quality assurance and control.

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Establish the quality strategy, goals and objectives for projects and plan the implementation thereof.
    • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) tailored to the unique requirements of renewable energy projects.
    • Ensure adherence to international and industry-specific quality standards.
    • Ensure project quality assurance resources are recruited and trained in time to deliver effective quality management.

    Project Manager: Permitting - Cape Town

    About this role

    • Ensure timely acquisition of all project permits, authorisation and/or consents (excl. land rights and environmental authorisations).
    • Manage regulatory issues.
    • Report to Project Pipeline Manager.

    Goals and responsibilities 

    • Build key relationships with Governmental departments, municipalities, and external stakeholders to obtain required permits and consents.
    • Engage actively with project developers, the environmental, land rights and engineering teams to ensure that the project pipeline is properly permitted.
    • Responsible for permitting projects (excl. environmental permits) from site control stage through to financial close for all projects under development, followed by ensuring that permitting conditions are met for the construction phase.

    • Undertake rezoning and SPLUMA processes for all projects including for the project land as well as servitudes.
    • Obtaining at a minimum the following permits: Land Claims (DALLRD), Section 53 Minerals (DFFE), rezoning no objection letters and SALA (DALLRD), as well as all municipal approvals including water and waste services approvals.
    • Track and monitor the above rezoning certificates and permits, and ensure that they are renewed timeously.
    • Engage actively with the relevant municipalities and act as a single point of contact on all permits submitted to the municipalities.

    Pre-Screening

    • Support Site Origination team to ensure to assist with fatal flaw land rights (e.g. land claims and Section 53 mining rights) screening.

    Land Rights Permits

    • Be ultimately responsible for obtaining the relevant permits to develop, construct and operate renewable energy facilities.

    Rezoning

    • Be ultimately responsible for all rezoning applications and processes.

    Construction Permits

    • Support construction/operations phase to follow up on permitting requirements.

    Team Player

    Senior Developer - Cape Town

    About the Role

    The Senior Developer is positioned within the Development Division and reporting to Head of Developments and ultimately responsible for ensuring that projects are developed and reach financial close within budget and timeframe. Lead interactions with environmental, off-take, legal, grid, engineering and construction teams.

    Goals and Responsibilities 

    • Develop and implement wind and/or solar projects from site control stage through to financial close, managing technical, commercial and financial workstreams

    • Lead the development of technical concepts and solutions of the projects, identifies optimal solutions from a technical, commercial and execution perspective including civil, mechanical, and electrical aspects of solar PV and wind plants, interconnection and high-voltage design and yield assessments.

    • Assist PPA/offtake teams to bid, and secure PPA and assist with related matters.

    Civil Engineer - Cape Town

    Goals and responsibilities

    • Provide civil engineering expertise.
    • Evaluate structural loads and limits for solar structures and buildings.

    ESG Manager - Cape Town

    Duties and responsibilities 

    Environmental and Social Governance Responsibilities

    Due Diligence and Procurement (pre-FID)

    • Assist in incorporating ESG template clauses and negotiating procurement and project supply agreements.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Head of Business Development - Cape Town

    About the role 

    • Positioned within the Development Division and reporting to the Chief Development Officer
    • Note: The Chief Development Officer has not yet been employed, and in the interim the role will report to the CEO
    • Ultimate responsibility to secure the customer offtake Mulilo requires to turn its development pipeline into secured projects.
    • Responsible for the establishment of PPAs and other wheeled energy products to match the evolution of the South African corporate PPA market
    • Responsible to drive economic and contractual processes on PPA’s and lead all PPA related negotiations.
    • Manage and responsible for all bid responses to REIPPPP and corporate bid opportunities.
    • Oversee business development and prepare Mulilo’s business development and commercial strategy in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer
    • The Head of Business Development will be the commercial face of the business and represent Mulilo at various conferences and with other key commercial stakeholders.

    Goals and Responsibilities 

    • Responsible for Mulilo’s efforts to secure 1,000 MW worth of offtake per year
    • Implement project roll-out strategy in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer
    • Develop various PPA structures for different types of commercial structures.

    Procurement and Logistics Coordinator - Cape Town

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Maintain the vendor database and vendor registration.

    Procurement and Logistics Manager (Wind)

    Goals and responsibilities 

    • Develop a procurement and logistics strategy for Wind considering REIPPP economic development obligations with regards to local content, preferential procurement and job creation.
    • Manage the entire procurement and logistics process, including the development of general terms and conditions, employer requirements and/or specifications, draft and prepare request for proposals, bid evaluation, bid award and implementation.

    • B.Sc Quantity Surveying preferred or alternatively Bachelors in Engineering, Legal or Commerce
    • Tender/Procurement/Supply Chain Management experience of +5 years in operations, global sourcing, procurement, and delivery in South Africa.
    • Experience under the REIPPP programme will be an advantage.
    • Demonstrate experience of procurement and logistics delivery for end-to-end EPC projects, including split contracts.
    • Demonstrate understanding for the cost drivers on Wind or at minimum the typical cost levers for construction.
    • Experience in the Renewable, Oil & Gas, or large infrastructure sectors, preferably in the renewable IPP realm.

    The Supply Chain Analyst role is an independent role within the procurement team responsible for systems, reporting and forecasting. The role will come to life with a candidate that takes ownership and initiative to find innovative ways to improve the performance of supply chain.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Conduct and maintain a comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential risks in the renewable energy sector.
