Purpose of the Position

• To oversee research projects to ensure results are robust, valid and key business questions are addressed to ensure actionable input for business strategy.

Key Performance Objectives

Strategy, Policy and Procedures

• Define processes and procedures to enhance work
• Agree on the overall objectives for a research project and then work to implement and execute the objectives (including sample design, weighting, questionnaire design, reporting and recommendations)

Research

• Oversee research projects across all platforms and methodologies
• Coordinate and specify the extraction of subscriber lists for sampling purposes
• Ensure key market trackers continue to deliver marketing insights
• Develop and present research findings and results to Senior Management and applicable stakeholders, make recommendations as required
• Deliver marketing metrics for KPI inclusion
• Deliver qualitative insights based on customer feedback
• Conduct scenario planning using conjoint simulators and econometric modelling to support pricing, bundling and new product development decisions
• Provide input into questionnaire and sample design of CSAT measurement

Stakeholder Relations

• Provide specialised and technical support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives
• Establish and monitor healthy, diverse internal and external relations and implement remedial actions where required, in the achievement of organisational goals
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support research projects to deliver essential information to inform business decision-making
• Analyse data in different software systems
• Manage suppliers and business expectations
• Work on and track multiple complex projects simultaneously

Finance and Administration

• Invoicing and payment follow up if required
• Take minutes of meetings and follow up on actionable steps

Reporting

• Provide timely and accurate reports in accordance with business and management requirements
• Report on status, risk and timelines regarding product operations team initiatives (connected video as well as Group) to provide visibility and line of sight

Qualifications Essential

• Degree/ Diploma in Media and Marketing / Market research

Qualification Preferred

• Post Grad Degree in Media and Marketing / Market research or;
• 5-8 years’ experience in Research in similar industries

Experience

• 5-8 years’ experience in Research in similar industries
• Good understanding of research and statistical techniques including sample design and weighting
• Designing of questionnaires and weighting frameworks essential
• Ideally proficient in internal BI terminology
• Proficient in research terminology
• Understand the SA / Multichoice Africa Limited markets
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Africa experience for Multichoice Africa Limited preferable
• Regular travel outside of SA required for Multichoice Africa Limited
