Senior Software Designer at CloudStream Global

The Role

A client is looking for a strong  Senior Software Designer who will  be responsible for the software design resources, practices and standards and that these practises and standards are properly executed when delivering software changes. Soemone who will ensure the continued improvement of the design practice to keep pace with broad design standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Define the software design standards, processes and tools to be used
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adoption of defined software design standards, processes and tools
• Ensure the effectiveness of the various software design practices can be measured and that improvement areas can be identified and targeted for improvement
• Identify new training solutions to enable adoption of new software design practices
• Perform capacity planning to ensure everyone is able to meet demands for software design skills
• Provide oversight and guidance to artifact consumers to ensure high-quality solutions are created 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related
• 8+ years experience in the IT industry 
• 5+ years’ experience with Software Design modelling practices (UML, Activity diagrams etc)
• 5+ years’ experience with Software Design across all sub-disciplines (UX, Application and Database)
• 4+ years’ experience with software design practices and tools ( Evolving and implementing)
• 4+ years’ experience in identification and formulation of Standards, Artifacts, and Processes
• 3+ years strong experience with software development
• 2+ years expertise in designing solutions to embrace micro services and the use of containers and container management systems (Docker and Kubernetes)
