Essential Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in infrastructure and hosting roles.

Technical Expertise:

• Advanced PowerShell scripting capabilities with a proven track record of automation projects.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, Linux systems, and hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) and Active Directory administration.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficient in networking concepts, firewalls, and DNS configurations.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, or similar are advantageous.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

• Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based hosting environments.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions meet high availability, security, and performance standards.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Entra and Active Directory services, including group policies, directory synchronisation, and hybrid configurations.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.

Scripting and Automation

• Develop, maintain, and optimise PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement scripting solutions for infrastructure monitoring, deployment, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate scripts into CI/CD pipelines.

Identity and Access Management

• Administer Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) services, including conditional access, identity protection, and SSO configurations.
• Manage user identities, roles, and permissions to ensure secure access control.
• Support the integration of identity management solutions with enterprise applications.

System Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Monitor system performance and uptime using industry-standard tools.
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and identity-related issues promptly.
• Implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and minimize downtime.

Security and Compliance

• Ensure hosting environments adhere to organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with software development, DevOps, and IT operations teams to support infrastructure and identity needs.
• Provide expert-level guidance and training to team members on PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Entra, and AD best practices.
• Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
