    Senior Specialist Learning From Incidents

    Job Description:

    The role is responsible for providing specialist support in the implementation and execution of Learning from Incidents (LFI) programs and will be supporting Process Operations

     You will be responsible for the following:

    • Implement and monitor group LFI programs for the assigned sites

    • Guarantee accurate and timely reporting of SHE incidents

    • Support/Lead Level 1 to 3 SHE incidents, HPI/HPHs investigations for the site assigned and cross-sites when required by group

    • Implement LFI training program to build site capabilities following group guidelines. Monitor competency of trained personnel

    • Monitor LFI KPIs for the assigned site and establish an operating rhythm with key stakeholders

    • Deliver audits to LFI programs to guarantee program consistency and adherence to group instructions

    • Provide assurance on corrective actions/learnings, report on ‘repeats’ to site leadership team

    • Implement effective LFI communication and engagement programs to share learnings across the site

    • Support the implementation of leading safety and sustainable development practice across mining operations and projects in Anglo American.

    • Support independent investigations

    This role is in Safety and Sustainable Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to Principle Safety and Sustainable Development Management Systems Assurance

    Qualifications:

    Bachelors / Honors degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (such as sciences, engineering or other related fields)

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Detailed understanding of Safety, Health and Environment trends and risks.

    • Demonstrated experience in a safety position within a technical environment, including the coordination of knowledge sharing with broader stakeholders.

    • Demonstrated experience working in a safety investigation position at a project, operation or BU level in mining or Oil and Gas Industry.

    • Track record of interfacing with and influencing colleagues at all levels and coordinating disciplines relevant to safety.
