Senior Specialist: Network and Platform Integration at MTN

Give input into and Implement the Client Operations technical strategy in line with the requirements of the business. Serve as the technical lead to effectively vet, scope, plan and implement customer solutions i.e. Bespoke solutions, Hosting, Access, MPLS, VoIP, Cloud, Security and IoT as sold through the Direct & Indirect Sales channels.

To ensure continuous improvement on network implementation process, quality assurance and operations that allow the network implementations team to bridge the gap between the targeted MTTIs, performance of services, products and solutions.
Strategic Input:

•  Contribute with Business re the strategic direction of technologies in line with overall business objectives
•  Participate in the creation of Design specification documentation to detail the business requirements
•  Ensure all short & longterm requirements are aligned to the overall business objectives

Solution Delivery:

•  Translate and implement customer business requirements into a technical solution
•  Architectural design in LAN, WAN, multiservices (IP, VoIP, Security and MPLS).
•  Developing policies and procedures.
•  Technology investment appraisal, benchmarking, and reporting.
•  Labtesting of new technologies and solutions in terms of conformance, performance, interoperability and manageability.
•  Provide assistance to clients and staff (onsite if required) with hardware installations during and after hours.
•  Deal with problem situations and project work timeously and efficiently, displaying effective time management and time allocation according to project deadline and incident severity.
•  Provide pre and postsales support and maintenance of client networks if required
•  Ensure effective resolutions of escalated complex problems and escalate to vendor and internal escalations teams if required.
•  Maintain high standards of quality during incident resolution and customer implementation.
•  Ensure all client documentation is created/updated post implementation phase.
•  Execute projects according to project schedules
•  Ensure quality objectives are met and maintained
•  Ensure future proof designs to guarantee deliverables are met according to customer requirements both internal and external
•  Track and report on performance problems and performance improvements on division level
•  Investigate performance issues and identify changes required on division level
•  Review design and drive optimisation changes
•  Ensure review of design and drive optimisation changes

 Provide high level support on the designed network/technologies
Job Requirements   
   
  Experience:

•  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IP LAN/WAN design and/or support, including VPNs in a Cisco environment. Experience on highend Cisco routers is a prerequisite.
•  Minimum of 3 years or more ISP experience
•  Minimum of 3 years customer facing experience
•  VoIP experience advantageous

 Security experience advantageous

Training:

•  Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
•  BGP, ISIS, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP and static routing.
