Senior System Architect at DAV Professional Placement Group

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Ownership of the migrated architecture stack for Client Applications, ensuring world-class standards for software quality, maintainability, scalability and security are met. Manage and grow a team of skilled developers for in-house development of migrated applications and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain product requirements from business stakeholders and manage delivery thereof for Client Applications
• Establish effective development, quality assurance and release processes for Client Applications
• Function as a senior code contributor when required
• Manage third party developers to deliver bug fixes and enhancements on the legacy platform
• Support and provide guidance on the development of IT infrastructure
• Lead the process of developing in-house capability
• Ensure that the migrated architecture delivers according to the business needs
• Support client and third party technical partnerships to achieve business goals

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• KPI 1: On-time delivery of quality software applications or other project outcomes
• KPI 2: Management of third party vendor deliverables to time, scope and budget
• KPI 3: Delivery of software and system architecture that meets stakeholder expectation
• KPI 4: Effective and efficient development processes in place
• KPI 5: Contribution to innovation and collaboration/partnership projects

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS

• Related IT or engineering or computer science qualification

EXPERIENCE

• Strong architecture skills – cloud and on-premises
• Extensive experience managing senior technical resources – developers, product owners, analysts, testers, IT, etc
• Extensive experience delivering strategic initiatives and technology transformation projects
• At least 2 years cloud-computing implementation together with Scrum/Agile methodologies experience
• In-depth experience with .Net core development
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing micro-services
• Experience developing distributed, multi-tiered applications
• Experience with containerisation
• Experience with Azure and AWS
