Senior Technical Specialist at Tsebo Solution

Primary Purpose:

• We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist to join our ESS Technology Security Solutions team in the Western Cape (Bellville).   This role is pivotal in delivering advanced technical support, installation, maintenance, and project execution for technology and alarm systems within a security client environment.   The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, customer focus, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage projects effectively while ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and SHEQ standards. The role includes supporting sales growth initiatives by identifying opportunities and contributing to solution design for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities    
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Successful project management, installation, and commissioning of technology and alarm systems.
• Effective maintenance ensuring high system reliability and minimal downtime.
• Positive customer feedback and strong client relationships.
• Compliance with Health & Safety and SHEQ standards.
• Timely and accurate reporting and documentation.
• Achievement of sales opportunities and targets with project milestones within agreed timelines.
• Reduction in technical issues through proactive fault-finding and resolution, including the effective mentoring and development of  contractors and junior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute installations of security and alarm systems according to project specifications and company standards. Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance to guarantee system reliability and minimize downtime. Provide efficient customer service, maintaining positive relations with clients from sales commencement to technology installations and maintenance work. Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards, ensuring compliance with Thorburn Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies and Procedures. Ensure timely and accurate reporting within set submission dates and any reasonable actions requested by management. Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project milestones. Provide guidance and training to technical assistants, fostering skills development and knowledge transfer. Collaborate with the sales team to identify technical opportunities during client engagements.

Qualifications    

• Grade 12 - Matric or Tertiary qualification
• Valid PSIRA – GRADE E Certification (non -negotiable) 
• Clear MIE criminal record 
• Valid Driver's Licence 1-2 years driving experience in operating a vehicle
• N3 Technical certification / Post Grade 12 qualification advantageous
• N Network Qualified 
• Dahua and Avigilon Certification, Impro Level 2 advantageous  
• Working at Heights and able to obtain a medical fitness certificate advantageous. (Red ticket)

Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of Senior Technical experience in the ESS environment. Experienced in identification, assessment, and management of project risks. Ability to plan and organize self and work to achieve objectives and targets. Capable of training, supervising, and managing staff in a technical environment. Proven track record of delivering maintenance under high pressure. Experience in a senior position in the security services industry will be required. Management of on-site stock, procurement of replacement stock will be required. Advanced IP skills and competence are essential for network and device set-up and commissioning. Fault-finding skills will be required to identify and isolate failure causes and accurate corrective action. Skills: Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to manage conflict and deliver objectives under pressure. Customer-focused with a proactive approach. Knowledge of basic networking and troubleshooting.
