Senior Test Analyst at Expleo Group

• We are looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg (Hybrid).
• An experienced and detail-oriented Senior Test Analyst to lead testing activities across complex projects and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role combines hands-on testing with test strategy, planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of junior team members. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving quality assurance best practices while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of test strategies, test plans, and testing approaches for projects and releases.
• Analyze complex business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test coverage.
• Estimate testing effort, identify risks, and contribute to project planning and delivery timelines.
• Ensure testing activities align with organizational quality standards, governance, and best practices.
• Design, review, and maintain high-quality test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Execute and oversee functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Support and guide test automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize testing processes.
• Ensure non-functional testing requirements, including performance, security, and usability, are considered where applicable.
• Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, ensuring accurate logging, prioritization, tracking, and resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify quality trends and recommend continuous improvements.
• Provide informed go/no-go recommendations based on testing outcomes, risks, and overall solution quality.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues in a clear and business-focused manner.
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Mentor and coach Test Analysts and junior Quality Assurance team members.
• Review testing artefacts and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing processes, tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst certification or equivalent (advantageous).

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in software testing within Agile delivery environments, preferably within the banking or financial services industry
• At least 2 years' experience in a senior or lead testing capacity.
• Proven experience in manual testing across functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience working with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Exposure to test automation frameworks and automation best practices.
• Experience using API testing tools such as Postman.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and test analysis.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe and CI/CD environments.
