We are seeking a Senior Treaty Accountant to join our Life Reinsurance Accounting Team, reporting to the Head of Life Accounting. This team is responsible for the complete technical accounting process, including reporting requirements, accounting system maintenance, and credit control for the Life Portfolio.
Your Role:
Perform senior level tasks and provide backup support for team leaders
Serve as a knowledge leader on technical accounting topics and processes, transferring knowledge and upskilling team members
Ensure technical accounting quality assurance, adhering to internal standards to meet audit and compliance requirements
Handle tasks related to quarterly and annual close-offs, ensuring compliance with deadlines
Provide guidance or assume responsibility for complex treaties as needed
Act as a local automation expert, representing the team in the Global Automation Forum and driving process automation initiatives
Take on local/global topic ownership in Reinsurance Accounting (RIA)
Actively contribute to or lead cross-unit projects and working groups
Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., missing accounts, overdue balances, unmatched cash) and escalate issues to management as needed
Assist in updating and optimizing internal accounting and claims handling processes and interfaces
Participate in testing new systems/tools related to global Reinsurance Accounting
Your profile:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related accounting qualification
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Reinsurance Accounting environment, preferably within the Life industry
Proven experience with automation tools that support technical accounting processes
