    Senior Video Editor

    About the role:

GVI is seeking a Senior Video Editor who will be responsible for crafting creative stories with strong artistic and technical skills. The successful candidate is able to edit in various styles including brand or promo videos, narrative, interview, travel, documentary, and tutorial/how-to videos. Basic motion graphics are required. This person will report in to the Head of Brand Communications and ideally start: 1 June 2022.

    About you:

Hungry for a chance to tell stories through your edits. You want to make videos that you genuinely love and you know young, ambitious, adventurous travellers will love them, too. You want to showcase and develop your technical skills through application in the fast-evolving digital marketing space.

You enjoy travel, culture, wildlife, and marine life, and you want access to amazing content in those areas. You’re not happy being stuck at the end of the production line – you want to craft stories yourself or in collaboration with other talented people.

This is a new and unique role, best suited to an individual who is invested in sustainable development and growing their skills in a growing business. You’ll be a great fit if you are organised, able to communicate your ideas and build on those of others, honest and empathetic, and keen to work in a drama-free environment.

This role fits into a broader marketing team. You will work closely with our brand strategists and content-creators in Comms and Design, Devs, SEO and paid media specialists, our Outreach team who manage GVI alumni and events, and our PMs in Operations.

    What you will do:

    • Apply your technical and creative vision to projects, either taking the lead from a video perspective in a team or working independently to achieve the best results
    • Contribute to video content marketing strategies, particularly YouTube and TikTok strategies.
    • Innovate GVI’s video content while working within brand guidelines:
    • Transform footage and scripts into moving visual stories for screens of all sizes
    • Edit content from our libraries to produce product and brand videos, video-based website assets, paid ad creatives, social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), and email assets, vlogs, testimonials, and case studies.
    • Create high-quality, engaging video or motion graphics for the various paid media channels across all brands. This could be across YouTube, Google, Facebook, Instagram or more.
    • Manage, drive and implement the strategy behind our YouTube channels.
    • Select music and SFX to enhance your stories, and record scratch tracks when required
    • Oversee and produce detailed briefs when collaborating with (amateur or professional) videographers and photographers in other parts of the world and/or lead the technical setup and shoot yourself ( including lighting, angle, placement and type of microphone, and positioning of individuals on camera).
    • Edit raw images to make them suitable for any marketing channel.
    • Develop a close understanding of our brands’ messages and tones to accurately capture them in video and photo form.
    • Manage and organise the library of raw and edited video and photo content for all brands.

    What you will need:

    • An excellent individual portfolio or showreel of post-production projects.
    • Degree or diploma in film or video content production.
    • Minimum of five years’ experience in video editing. Experience in offline editing is preferred.
    • Highly capable in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Experience in Media Encoder is preferred.
    • Experience in videography and motivation to conduct shoots yourself (if required) is preferred.
    • Great creative eye for visualising, briefing, editing, and shooting when necessary.
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects and switch between work for different brands.
    • Organised, efficient, and with good attention to detail.
