Server Administrator at Datacentrix

• Managed Talent Solutions's client in mining sector is looking for a Server Administrator with 5+ years experience in managing and maintaining server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. Must have experience in installing, configuring, and updating server hardware and software and monitoring server performance. An understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations is also essential.
• Fixed-term contract until Dec 2025, hybrid and office site in JHB -North. Travelling may be required

Requirement :

• Matric and related tertiary qualifications
• 5-6 years of experience in server administration and maintenance.
• Microsoft MCSE/MCSA traditional on-premises infrastructure qualifications, or equivalent industry experience would be beneficial
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Centre Virtualization 6.x, 7.x
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ800 - AZ 801)
• Establish the stability, reliability, and security of Network Services (ADDS, DNS, DHCP, NPS), Windows Servers (Physical and Virtual), and Virtualization environments (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere)
• Cyber Resilient OS Solutions scope and execution
• Proficiency in server operating systems (such as Windows) and server virtualization technologies
• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software systems.
• Monitor server performance to ensure efficient and secure operation.
• Identify and troubleshoot server-related issues.
• Implement server security measures, including firewalls and data encryption.
• Perform regular data backups to protect organizational information.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and system controls.
• Coordinate with other IT professionals to ensure efficient server usage.
• Document server configurations, changes, and upgrade history.
