Key Performance Indicators:

Technical job role requirements include:

• Microsoft Active Directory, Domain Administration - MS Active Directory & Domain Administration , users , groups and permissions management.
• Server Virtualization - Configuration, operation and administration of the Virtual Server platform, including related Storage (SAN) and Networking.
• Backup & Recovery, DR – Competent use of technology & practices to ensure business continuity of IT systems , and compliance in terms of audits & risk assessments.
• Problem Solving, Troubleshooting & Performance Management – able to effectively use IT Infrastructure tools for monitoring , alerting , trouble-shooting and problem-solving to maintain optimal and efficient server & storage performance & availability.
• Interfacing (Internal and External) – Good verbal and written communication skills required to contribute on a technical level with internal and external parties.
• Best-Practice & Standards – Recommend standards & practices in terms of server , storage , database and domain administrative functions for continuous improvement.
• Cyber Security – All aspects of the role to be carried out compliant to security standards
• Installations & Configuration, Hardware – install and administer IT infrastructure server and storage hardware. (Rack , stack , cable management etc.)

• Job card / Ticket Resolution– Able to communicate effectively to manage, prioritise and resolve job cards / tickets for assigned tasks and service requests.
• Documentation – Create and maintain documentation related to the server & storage environment. This includes knowledge repository / wiki , training material , standards and procedures.

Support job role requirements

• Must provide support to other IT teams (Software & Systems , Network , End-User etc) as well as end-users via job card / ticket resolution , in a competent, respectful and professional manner.
• After-hours stand-by on a rotational basis within the team is a requirement,

Experience:

At least 3-6 years relevant experience in server engineer/administration role within IT infrastructure support and administration with hands-on experience on:

• server virtualization
• server & storage administration
• domain & user administration
• hardware installation & configuration
• monitoring , alerting & performance management
• backup & recovery
• database operations / administration
• Placement at a particular grade is contingent upon management’s decision as well as additional relevant skills -based and site-specific factors deemed appropriate.Qualification
• Matric-Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)

Required Certifications:

• Certification in a current Server Virtualization technology (VMware Certified Professional VPC, Microsoft Azure Administrator , Oracle VM , HPE VM Essentials etc.)
• Certification or equivalent Formal Training Qualification that will validate competence in Microsoft Active Directory and Domain Administration (Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate , Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate , MCSE / MCP , or equivalent)
• Certification or equivalent Formal Training Qualification that will validate competence in Networking (CompTIA Network+ , Cisco CCNA or equivalent)
