Job Advert Summary    

• We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented and physically fit Shift Checker to join our warehouse and logistics operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock control, scanning, loading verification, and compliance with quality and FIFO (first in, first out) standards within a cold storage environment

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or processing plant environment
• Computer literacy (basic to intermediate level)
• Familiar with the Translution system
• Familiar with the Syspro system (advantageous)
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner
• Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Medically fit and in good physical health
• Must be able to work in a -20°C cold storage holding room
• Willingness to work extended hours when operationally required (07:00 – 19:00)
• Must be available for overtime, including:
• Shift work required:
• Must be physically capable of lifting, moving, loading, and stacking stock ranging from 15kg to pallet loads up to 1000kg (manual and equipment-assisted handling where applicable)

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Issue pallets to production accurately and timeously
• Scan pallets into trucks before dispatch
• Ensure the correct product, quantity, and quality are loaded for customers and cold storage dispatches
• Receive pallets from production accurately and verify quality and quantity
• Allocate pallets into warehouse bins according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Maintain the holding room housekeeping and ensure proper care of equipment
• Ensure strict FIFO (First-In-First-Out) compliance at all times
• Assist with weekly and monthly stocktakes and stock verification processes
• Operate handheld scanners for stock movements and loading confirmations
• Identify and report products not meeting the required standards
• Restack pallets when required to ensure safe storage and handling
• Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
• Report unsafe conditions, hazards, damages, and misconduct immediately
• Work closely with the warehouse and production teams to ensure operational efficiency
