Job Advert Summary    

• It is the responsibility of the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth transition of the operation from shift to shift and to effectively manage the team to achieve the short-term and long-term objectives and goals of the business.

Requirements    

• National Diploma.
• 4 – 6 years relevant experience in applying job related concepts, techniques and processes at the required level within the FMCG/Food manufacturing Industry.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory role.
• Basic Computer literacy.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends & public holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Manage staff  
• Deploy resources on shift.
• Apply consistent discipline as per the company standards as and when required.
• Train and develop staff timeously.
• Attend CDC management meetings and staff shiftmeetings when required.
• Liaise and effectively communicate with management in all departments in the CDC and at the branch. 
• Set objectives and manage & measure the performance of your team. 
• Manage the warehouse process  
• Oversee receiving and offloading of stock.
• Oversee put-aways, replenishments and returns. 
• Oversee the picking, checking & loading functions 
• Ensure stock rotation. 
• Ensure repacking & sorting of damages to minimize losses. 
• Ensure effective usage & maintenance of WMS. 
• Control Chep pallets & crates. 
• Manage housekeeping, maintenance, cold chain, safety & security 
• Ensure safety, security and housekeeping rules are complied with. 
• Maintain cold chain.
• Ensure correct utilizations of loss control tools i.e. access control, weigh bridge & CCTV. 
• Manage stock breakages & losses. 
• Ensure correct usage of MHE, equipment, pantechs, trailers, bays & yards. 
• Comply with legal requirements (e.g. SHE, SABS and BCEA). 
• Assist with planning and cost control 
• Ensure cost remain within budget and report on deviation. 
• Plan for resource demands.
• Assist in setting budgets. 
• Assist in doing peak planning.
