Shop Assistant at Phakisa Group

Job Summary

• We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Shop Assistant to support daily retail operations in our Krugersdorp store. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, assist with merchandising, process transactions, and support stock control activities. A valid driver’s licence is required to assist with occasional deliveries, collections, and other operational duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system
• Replenish shelves and maintain attractive product displays
• Receive, unpack, and organise stock deliveries
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages
• Keep the store clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
• Handle customer queries and resolve complaints efficiently
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Conduct local deliveries or collections when required
• Support the team with general retail and operational duties

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Valid South African driver’s licence
• Previous retail or shop assistant experience preferred
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic numerical and cash-handling ability
• Honest, dependable, and punctual
• Ability to work retail hours, including weekends if required
