RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable building contractor in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team on a large-scale construction project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring quality delivery, and driving programme performance from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily site activities on a major building project
Manage subcontractors, labour, and site resources effectively
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship, particularly on finishing works
Monitor site progress and implement corrective actions where required
Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants
Manage site reporting, documentation, and progress updates
Requirements:
National Diploma in Building/BTech degree in Construction Management or similar
Minimum 8 and 10 years’ proven experience as a Site Manager on building construction projects
Strong background in commercial building projects and high-end finishes essential
Experience on large government or institutional projects advantageous
Solid understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and subcontractor management
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
