    Senior Resident Engineer - Consulting Industry

    Job Description

    • RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable engineering consulting firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join their site-based team in Durban. The successful candidate will form part of a multidisciplinary road upgrade project, providing strong technical leadership and site oversight on major road infrastructure works.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as the Engineer’s on-site representative, ensuring full compliance with contract specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
    • Lead and coordinate the site supervision team on behalf of the Engineer
    • Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring proper inspections, quality control, and progress tracking are in place
    • Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, delays, and mitigation measures
    • Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure delivery aligns with programme, budget, and contractual obligations

    • Strong knowledge of COTO/COLTO specifications and BOQ measurement
    • Experience in pavement rehabilitation, drainage systems, traffic accommodation, and general roadworks
    • Exposure to bridge works and CRCP will be advantageous

    • Valid driver’s licence essential
    • Strong communication and reporting skills in English
