Slitting Operator at Nampak

Job Description

• Operating various slitters and machines to produce a product as per laid down standards.
• Adherence to production plan.
• Ensuring that good quality blanks are cut;
• Conducting quality checks, recording results on the quality charts and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Ensuring equipment is kept in good running order.
• Reporting defective issues to the Endmaker
• Trouble shooting in order to ensure that lines produce at optimum efficiency.
• Maintaining and ensuring high standard of housekeeping, safety and hygiene

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12

Knowledge

• Be familiar with all quality aspects

Experience

• Minimum three (3) months on the job training;
• Previous Slitter Operating experience (advantageous)

Competencies

• Have well developed analytical and problem solving skills
• Must be a self-starter and be willing to work shifts and overtime;
• Ability to work independently
• Be a team player
• Have the ability to perform well under pressure
• Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
