    Draughtsman Trainee - (2361)

    Job Description

    • Design layout and detail drawings according to ISO 9001 standards
    • Communicate necessary machinery, tooling and auxiliary equipment modifications or changes to Production
    • Confirm common manufactured and purchased parts conform to required standards
    • Create necessary manuals and records to Design Office standards
    • Produce layout and detail drawings according to tooling, engineering standards for manufacturing processes
    • Provide support on spare manufacturing through advising alternative materials, component and manufacturing methods
    • Identify problem areas, consult technical resources in order to devise and implement solutions for the requests on design of plant production lines
    • Contribute to design of can handling systems and line synopsis
    • Maintain and update equipment, vendor catalogues and standards in the technical library

    Job Requirements

    • N4/N5 in Mechanical Draughting
    • Qualified Toolmaker with N4/N5 Mechanical Draughting

    Graphics Designer

    Job Description

    Purpose of Role: Transform digital media into printable artwork for Litho and Dry Offset Letterpress processes.

    • Interpret customer briefs.
    • Technical support to customers and their Design Agencies.
    • Rework customer artwork files to suit printing capabilities and constraints.
    • Take ownership and accountability for each design worked on.
    • Output digital files onto film via image-setter and CtP.
    • Ensure accuracy and required quality of all designs.
    • Audit all work carried out to ensure that it adheres to prescribed procedures and requirements.
    • Assist with maintenance and housekeeping of all output devices.
    • Load output devices with consumables.
    • Make Litho and Mono printing plates as and when required.
    • Monitor levels of consumables

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Matric / Grade 12.
    • National Diploma in Graphic Design or Desktop Publishing (DTP), from a recognized institution.
    • Min 5 years’ apple mac experience in the following software packages: illustrator, photoshop, and work flow
    • Must have passed the color perception test (to be done every two years thereafter)

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Be proficient on the Apple Mackintosh platform with Adobe software
    • Production experience
    • Problem solving skills
    • Management Skills
    • Computer Literacy with MS Office.
    • Good Communication Skills

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years production experience in a highly pressurized package manufacturing environment.
    • Minimum training time for competence: 3 yrs. appropriate DTP packaging exp.

    Competencies

    • Have good administrative and numeracy skills
    • Must not be colour blind. (Will be subjected to in-house colour
    • perception test).
    • Above average communication and reporting skills.
    • Able to work independently under pressure.

    Slitting Operator

    Job Description

    • Operating various slitters and machines to produce a product as per laid down standards.
    • Adherence to production plan.
    • Ensuring that good quality blanks are cut;
    • Conducting quality checks, recording results on the quality charts and ensuring quality standards are met.
    • Ensuring equipment is kept in good running order.
    • Reporting defective issues to the Endmaker
    • Trouble shooting in order to ensure that lines produce at optimum efficiency.

    Packer

    Job Description

    Purpose of Role: To pack good quality cans neatly onto correct pallet.

    • Make sure that the cans are stacked neatly and bundles are tight at all times
    • Remove pallets and make sure pallet is tightly wrapped with labels
    • Packing good quality pails and cans on to pallet
    • Reporting any defects immediately to Foreman or QA Auditor
    • Operating manual and automatic strapping machine.
    • Check that the machine is set correctly
    • Clean the machine regularly.
    • Identifying defective cans and remove them prior to packing
    • Ensuring that the correct packing configuration is applied
    • Ensuring that cost of consumables kept at minimum
    • Ensuring that correct packing equipment is applied
    • Ensure all guards are fitted before starting the spiral wrapper.
    • Ensure adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Have a Gr12 certificate

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of Can construction (advantageous)
    • Previous packing or sorting (advantageous)

    • Must have good eye sight and competent in color perception.
    • Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime

    SHER Officer

    Job Description

    Purpose of Role: ​​​​​​To provide service, create and maintain Health and Safety Awareness to employees at all times to improve productivity and sustenance of the business through consistent legal compliance.

    • Staff safety induction training & annual refresher.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits as per respective ISO manuals requirements
    • Conduct Incident Investigations & compile reports.
    • Liaise with auditors while on site, assist with paper work procedures.
    • Ensure that legal appointment are up to date.
    • ISO manuals -develop and implement SHE as per ISO 45000.
    • Update, sustain and report on SHER compliance to management and provide advice in line with standards and regulations.
    • Assess SHER strategies and targets for improvement.
    • Monthly Safety Statistics report and load on Insight.
    • Ensure Legal property documentation for all sites are compliant and retrievable.
    • Contractors that are coming on site comply with all construction legal regulations and OSHACT.
    • Interact with service providers on projects to be carried out on site.
    • Periodic tracking of expenditure against the budget.
    • Constantly update the plant Emergency Plans and Procedures.
    • Schedule evacuation drills as per policy.
    • Maintain ISO14001:2015 environmental management system.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Matric (Grade 12 Certificate).
    • National Diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety, Quality, Food Safety management systems and Risk control.
    • A certificate in SAMTRAC / RISKMAQ will be advantageous, Auditor courses ISO 14001: 2015.

    Knowledge and skills

    • Understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) – with 1-2 years environmental background experience.
    • JDE knowledge essential
    • Must be a team player, and passionate about Health, Safety and Environmental and Risk control.

    Experience

    • Formal training or Certification as an auditor to perform HSE audits – with 2-5 years internal auditor experience.
    • At least 2 -3 years HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Train the Trainer Course will be advantageous.
    • 2 years Environmental background experience.

    Stores Order Picker

    Job Description

    Purpose of Role: To ensure all raw materials, finished goods & scrap material are effectively managed throughout the entire Monobloc department as per process requirement. Assist with ad hog activities as per requirement.

    • Ensure stock levels of all raw materials in the production holding areas are maintained at required levels for efficient production.
    • Ensure sufficient stock for night shift and weekend production.
    • Materials to be controlled: Coatings, Varnishes, Lacquers, Washing detergent, Rags, Pallets, Top frames, Layer pads, Strapping material, Wrapping material, etc.
    • Loading of slugs on all production lines according to the works order specification and systems in place.
    • Ensure production lines are supplied with the required raw materials to allow full production capability at all times.
    • Remove all empty containers from production holding area on regular bases and dispose as per procedures.
    • Assist with collecting and distribute of all materials required in the department – office supplies etc.
    • Ensure that safety procedures are adhered to and maintained at all times.
    • Dispose of non-conforming products as per the environmental policies and procedures.
    • Be prepared to carry out any reasonable request when called upon to do so by senior departmental personnel.
    • Assist with stock take of raw materials as and when required.
