Snr Specialist: Business Analyst at Liberty Group South Africa

Purpose

The Business Analyst will fill the role of being a vital link between the Data Management Information Technology capacity (i.e., FRID) and business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing, and deployment tasks of FRID's software products features. The Analyst will be required to help the team members to map, analyze and document the technical requirements.

Additionally, the Business Analyst will have a responsibility to coach and train newly-on boarded entry-level and junior Business Analysts on the Knowledge Areas defined by the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK). 

Responsibilities

• Stakeholder engagement to understand and clarify requirements.
• Identify, determine, and document business requirements through User Stories.
• Act as SME during business impact and benefit analysis.
• Create business process models, analyze models, and identify variances from operational and performance requirements.
• Define and design changes to existing processes as required and ensure integration of changes into the process environment.
• Defining test strategies and performing functional / regression testing.
• Manage and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (eg. test plans, text cases and test execution).

Experience

• Minimum 3 years Business Analysis experience.
• Experience in the delivery of large scale and complex custom development projects; and
• Minimum 3 years Business Process Modelling experience.
• Consulting background / experience would be an advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Systems, BCom or equivalent.
• Strong academic record from a nationally recognized institution.
