    Purpose of the Position:

    • This role is responsible for the social media content strategy and overseeing of customer operations across the Showmax brand social profiles across Africa. 
    • The ideal candidate will have extensive social media content strategy, content creation and analytical experience to develop and drive hyper-localised strategies, content briefs, production requirements, execution of key campaigns, insights and reporting, and leading a team across Africa. 
    • The position requires a leader who is extremely organised, detail-oriented, creative, agile, innovative in their thinking, a skilled collaborator and communicator, and shows a passion for the entertainment industry. 

     

    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    • Develop and execute social media content and community management strategies across key regions.
    • Day-to-day management of always-on and large-scale, multi-platform marketing campaigns ensuring best practices, accurate brand representation and creative assets are relevant to the local markets.
    • Ongoing collaboration with content, marketing, PR and comms, operations, partnerships and the digital teams to develop and maintain a social media content calendar and campaigns across SA and MAH.
    • Increase brand reach and audience engagement across all social channels through high performing, fit-for-purpose asset creation.
    • Manage a team of social media content creators and community managers.
    • Drive alignment with internal and external agencies to create compelling, culturally resonant content for social platforms to engage with our current and potential audiences.
    • Manage multiple influencer campaigns across multiple regions, including briefs, copy and content approval and PCAs.
    • Actively report, track and optimise performance of organic and paid social media content.
    • Use social media insights and analytics to inform creative and cross-functional team members to inform future briefs and content creation for key campaigns.
    • Brief, approve and execute content and copy with for key always-on and marketing campaigns.
    • Knowledge of trends, emerging platforms, and new technologies in the social and digital marketing space.
    • Partner closely with internal stakeholders across the MultiChoice group to execute and deliver on social priorities to drive business objectives, growth and audience retention.
    • Demonstrate 24/7 approach to responsibilities – occasional after hours and weekend work required.
    • Partner with regional in-country leads in MAH to coordinate various partnership and content campaigns.
    • Engage daily with social customer care team lead to identify issues, patterns and trends in consumer comments and queries.

    Experience Required

    • 6-8 years of social media management experience developing and executing social media strategy.
    • Experience in managing teams: setting team and individual goals/KPIs, performance management and growth.
    • A creative portfolio of previous campaigns highlighting the role the candidate played to contribute to its success (strategy, ideation, briefing and execution).
    • Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects across multiple regions.
    • Ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate potential issues.
    • Experience with paid social and managing a budget.
    • Interest in, and knowledge of Showmax Original programming, and streaming entertainment category is preferred.
    • Relevant degree or diploma beneficial.
