    Social Media Manager

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Social Media Manager is responsible for multiple social media platforms for three respective brands: SAOTA & ARRCC. Social media platforms include, but are not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. The Social Media Manager develops, presents, and implements social media strategies for all active social platforms. Part of the role is content creation, to compile monthly content calendars (visuals & copywriting), to post all approved content, to boost content to targeted audiences, and to community manage daily. The Social Media Manager monitors industry trends and keeps a close eye on competitors. The Social Media Manager is responsible for reporting back on all activity and results on social media platforms by presenting data and analytics. The Social Media Manager supervises, manages, and maintains all social media related tasks for the brands. Sound knowledge and experience is required to take ownership and accountability for the organisation’s social media activities.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The Media Department is structured according to 7 Media Pillars: Strategies, Brand Collateral, Media Publicity, Social Media, Public Forums, Direct Marketing, Internal Communications. Although the key pillar of focus will be Social Media; the Social Media Manager will also be involved in other Media Pillars. See key responsibilities below.

    Brands: SAOTA, ARRCC, OKHA (referred to hereafter as all brands)

    Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest (referred to hereafter as multiple channels)
    Strategies

    • Social Media Strategies: develop, present, and implement creative and engaging social media strategies for all brands across multiple channels
    • Budget: assist Head of Media in compiling annual social media budget forecasts; monitors social media spend
    • Research: track industry news and trends – stay up to date with latest social media best practice and technology and report back
    • Competitor Analysis: analyse competitor activity and report back
    • KPI/Goal Setting: set targets to increase brand awareness and following for all brands across multiple channels

    Brand Collateral

    • Copywriting: copywrite all captions for any social media posts and campaigns
    • Content Library: develop and managing a system for a content library
    • Content Creation: create engaging multi-media content for all brands across multiple channels

    Media Publicity

    • Press Schedule: understand all brands’ press schedules to tie in relevant social posts to current campaigns
    • Coverage: awareness of all recent media coverage to be shared creatively on multiple channels

    Social Media

    • Calendars: compile monthly calendars for all brands across multiple channels and obtain Dirs. approval
    • Strategies: review and analyse strategies and constantly research new social media ideas and campaigns
    • Schedule/post: schedule/post monthly approved content
    • Community Manage: handle all day-to-day conversation and responding to communities in a timely manner
    • Boosting: create boosting strategies – identifying best target audiences for multiple channels
    • Reporting: compile Quarterly social media reports – monitor, track, analyse and report on performance of all brands across multiple channels

    Public Forums

    • Schedule: understand annual public forums schedule (events, awards, expos, speaking opportunities) to tie in relevant social posts, e.g. sharing awards shortlisted/won, events attended etc.

    Internal Communication

    • Quarterly Magazine: compile quarterly social media results for the quarterly magazine
    • Staff Communications: educate staff on use of social media and its use within the company, e.g. LinkedIn
    • please note that some tasks, over and above these listed, might be required occasionally.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Marketing Degree / Diploma essential
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Knowledge of the following is beneficial: WordPress, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Iconosquare, Deltek Vision and Microsoft Power BI, Google Analytics, Mailchimp
    • Passion for media and marketing
