    Software Developer: Full Stack - Cape Town

    Job Description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Designing, developing and maintaining frontend and backend software systems that will assist the Party in reaching its objectives.
    • Supporting the deployment and use of the Party’s software infrastructure.
    • Supporting the Party’s campaign by extracting data, preparing reports, and developing systems to track campaigns’ progress

    Job Requirements
    Minimum requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or practical qualification in software development
    • 2 years of experience in software development using JavaScript/TypeScript
    • 1 year of experience in developing web frontends using React, and backends in Node.js
    • with SQL database systems 
    • Knowledge of software development principles, methodologies, and best practice
    • Knowledge of version control, development pipelines, deployment processes

    Skills:

    • Programming skills 
    • Problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for analytical thinking
    • Organisation and planning
    • Attention to detail

    Abilities:

    • Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
    • Work well under pressure
    • Work independently
    • Apply sound judgement
    • Ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule, including working irregular hours on a frequent basis

    Knowledge and commitment:

    • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
    • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
